To design materials for a
toolkit of care and support for schools as part of the SCCS programme, a school-based response to the ever-increasing
numbers of orphans and
vulnerable children. The toolkit consisted of a handbook; a book of ten stories describing the
experiences of members of a school community, with accompanying flannel board and dye-cut cast of
characters; a set of eight posters for advocacy; Learn About Healthy Living (LAHL) curriculum material; a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) booklet; a caregiver’s booklet; a First
Aid handbook; and additional relevant material.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed,
it’s the only thing that ever has.
